Polar Bear Attack By Gordon Buchanan

Cameraman Gordon Buchanan endured an attack from a hungry female polar bear. The attack lasted 45 minutes. It was safe because the man was sitting inside a bomb-proof “perspex pod”, the on-ice equivalent of a shark cage. Gordon Buchanan is a Scottish wildlife film maker noted for his contributions to Big Cat Diary, Springwatch, Natural World and the 'Lost Land' series.

Buchanan grew up on the Isle of Mull. As a child Buchanan was a fan of David Attenborough's television shows and Survival, a nature show.
