Realistic Sculptures By Carole Feuerman

Carole Feuerman is known as one of the major hyper-realistic sculptors in America. In 2004, she participated in the exhibit An American Odyssey 1945-1980 together with some of the most prominent post-war American artists of the post-WWII era. In the following year she presented two workshops at the Metropolitan Museum of Art working specifically with inner city youths. In 2006, her "painting with fire" sculpture "Zeus and Hera," was installed in the permanent collection of the prestigious "Grounds for Sculpture" in Hamilton, New Jersey.
The monographic exhibition at the QCC Art Museum entitled Resin to Bronze Topographies (catalogue with critical essays by John Yau and Donald Kuspit) was then followed by an installation of one of her works from the permanent collection of the prestigious Grounds for Sculpture. Her works are included in some of the most selective collections, including ex-American president Bill Clinton and his wife, Hilary, Dr. Henry Kissinger, President Gorbachev, the Metropolitan Museum of Art, the Hermitage in St. Petersburg, Fort Lauderdale Museum of Art, Bass Museum and the Forbes Magazine Art Collection. In March 2007 she held her second workshop at the Metropolitan Museum of Art, entitled La Escultura, La Tecnica, organized by education department curator, Rosa Tejada. In June 2007, she held another monographic exhibition, By The Sea, curated by John T. Spike at the Paradise Pavilion during the Venice Biennial. Again in Venice, in September 2007, she participated in OPEN 2007, an international sculpture exhibition, curated by Paolo de Grandis, in conjunction with the Venetian Cinema Festival. In New York, her works are represented by Jim Kempner Fine Art, who has hosted such exhibitions as People, Places and Things, curated by Dru Arstark and the display of the monumental sculpture, Survival of Serena. In San Francisco, Feuerman is represented by Scott Richards Contemporary Art. Lust & Desire, curated by Peter Frank and the director, Gertrude Kohler-Aeschlimann (exhibition catalogue with essays by Stephen C. Foster and Peter Frank), opened in spring 2007 at the Art-st-Urban in Lucerne and continued through autumn 2008. In Italy and in London, Feuerman is represented by Moretti Fine Art. In June 2008, the Florence gallery exhibited a great monographic exhibition, complete with a new catalogue and a DVD which documents her time and work in Florence. Carole Feuerman was also invited to exhibit in the Beijing Biennial in summer 2008. From November 2008 to February 2009, the Amarillo Art Museum in Texas opens a retrospective entitled Psychedelic – Optical Visionary Art since the 60’s. In 2008, she worked on a commission from the Atlantic Foundation for their permanent collection. One of the sculptures, Grande Catalina, was published in A History of Western Art by Antony Mason and John T. Spike. This volume covers all periods of art from cave painting to Leonardo da Vinci, Andy Warhol and Pablo Picasso. This work was also included in New Media: New York Directions. Her sculpture, Scuba, was auctioned off on 2 April 2008 at Sotheby’s New York.
