Rock Boarding

Surprisingly the wear of the boards underside is not of a big deal. Since the force is spread throughout all the engaged rocks, only small burs and scratches will be left on the board. Therefore, the equipment can be used many times. To prevent the board from the mentioned damages, some diehard Boarders are bolting a thin sheet metal under the snowboard. However, the drawback is that the board will be slower.
It is highly recommended for first time rock boarder to protect them self with at least with trousers, long sleeve shirts, gloves and a helmet. Shin, elbow, wrist guards are preferable.
However, some nutcases are boarding without a shirt only in their shorts. This will increase the adrenaline flow of the boarder, but if he falls, he will pay the price of getting painfully hurt!
