In June 2012, Lamborghini Miami released a special-edition gold plated Aventador AU79. Brett David, owner of Prestige Imports, told Huffington Post that it took 70 days to complete the car with gold foil at Auto Supershield at Boca Raton. It is estimated to be at $550,000USD
• Veneno
The Veneno, based on the Aventador, will debut at the 2013 Geneva Auto Show. Built to celebrate Lamborghini's 50th anniversary, the Veneno is designed with ultimate goal of optimum aerodynamics and cornering stability, which resulted in a Le Mans prototype-like design. The Aventador engine has been massaged to produce 750 hp. Extensive use of carbon fibre on the Veneno makes it 125 kilograms (280 lb) lighter than the Aventador. Only three units will be made, and they are sold at $4 million each.
