Mars is the fourth planet from the Sun in the Solar System. The planet is named after the Roman god of war, Mars. It is often described as the "Red Planet", as the iron oxide prevalent on its surface gives it a reddish appearance. Mars is a terrestrial planet with a thin atmosphere, having surface features reminiscent both of the impact craters of the Moon and the volcanoes, valleys, deserts, and polar ice caps of Earth...

The inspiration for this project came from Antoine Brugidou, between the bay of Mont St Michel and the south of Jersey, where the tide can go out for miles and where one has to navigate between sandbanks, rocks and currents. The concept (which is subject to a word-wide patent) is based upon the integration of a caterpillar system within the hull without affecting its aesthetics, performance, or its seaworthiness...

Thomas Scott Kuebler was born in Cleveland, Ohio in 1960 to a ceramics teacher and a photo engraver. Having innate artistic tendencies coupled with learning disabilities, Tom was encouraged to develop his creative skills. His childhood media ranged from paint to clay to broken toys and whatever he could find in the trash or junk drawer. His first love was sculpting which lead him to major in Art at Kent State University...
